Victorias Lgu Awards Best Barangay Council For The Protection Of Children

The Victorias City Government recognized the winners of the Search for the Best Barangay Council for the Protection of Children during the regular flag-raising ceremony held at the City Public Plaza on November 25.


Barangay VI-A, led by Punong Barangay Ana Mae Claro, was awarded first place, followed by Barangay XIII, under Punong Barangay Eric Alcobilla, and Barangay XI, led by Barangay Captain Mary Pugna, in second and third places, respectively.


Certificates of commendation were presented to these barangays for their exemplary initiatives in safeguarding and promoting children's welfare within their communities.

The event commenced with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, performed by an all-women ensemble, symbolizing the empowerment of women.


City employees also actively participated by wearing orange to signify the start of the 18-day advocacy campaign, running until December 12, which aims to foster a culture of respect and zero tolerance for violence.


The event also served as a platform to recognize Victoriasanons who excelled in various fields through SP Resolutions presented by Vice Mayor Abelardo Bantug III and city officials.


Among those honored was Carl Lorenz Fajardo of Barangay III for his championship victory in the Battle of the Nightingale Metro Pacific Health Quiz Bee for Nursing held in Manila last October.


Meanwhile, Phoebe Nicole Tupaz, an Educational Assistance Grantee of Victorias City, was commended for passing both the Electronic Technicians Licensure Examination and the Electronics Engineers Licensure Examination held in October 2024.


Dianne Canlas was also recognized for her remarkable achievement in passing the Electronics Communication Engineering Examination and the Electronics Communication Technician Examination.


Similarly, Angela Nadine Jare earned commendation for successfully passing the Chemists Licensure Examination and the Chemical Technicians Licensure Examination.


The Chrishar-RMP Taekwondo Team received recognition for their outstanding performance during the 2024 SMART MVP Sports Foundation Regional Taekwondo Championship Tournament in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.


Furthermore, John Steven Demaisip was congratulated for his 5-0 victory in the Under-19 World Boxing Championship (60kg Division) held at the Pueblo Convention Center in Colorado, USA.


Adding to the city’s pride, Victorias was acknowledged for its Five Outstanding Health Practices during the Local Health Systems Awards held in Iloilo City.


Lastly, loyalty awardees for the month of November were also recognized, namely Restie Baldomer and Ferland Soberano, both from the General Services Office. *
