Voluntary Blood Letting Program Service

About the Service

The primary objective of the Activity is to collect a variety of safe blood and blood products that will be utilized in saving the lives of Patients who are in need of blod.

The Blood Letting Activity aims to create a network of blood donors ready to serve those who are having difficulty in finding donors and to spread awareness on the health benefits of donating blood.

HOW TO AVAIL THE SERVICE

Client Steps :

  1. Intent to donate Blood with the following criteria:
  • Being 17YO or older or 16YO with parental consent
  • 110Lbs
  • In good health
  • Feeling well and not taking antibiotic
  • Pulse rate 60-100
  • Hgb at least 125gms

Agency Actions :

  • Interviews probable donor with checklist produced by DOH
  • Vital Signs taking and weighing donors
  • Laboratory test
  • Consultation with Doctors

  • 5 minutes
  • 3 minutes
  • 20 minutes
  • 5 minutes

If patient is fit, made to sign consent for blood extraction

  • Patient position in bed
  • Phlebotomist extract blood
