MAYOR JAVI BARES NUMEROUS ACCOMPLISHMENTS IN MIDTERM REPORT

Victorias City Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez revealed several groundbreaking achievements for his Midterm Report at the City Sports and Amusement Center, March 18.
The City Mayor bared his administration’s accomplishments under his six-point agenda namely; Dynamic Governance, Diversified Economy, Dignified Human Settlement, Disaster Resilient Community, Education for All, and Universal Healthcare.
He highlighted the city’s digitalization programs under the Sidlak City Digital Network Assets.
These are comprised of all digital-technology-related infrastructure and software development projects of the LGU such as the distribution of office productivity tools, Human Resource Information System (HRIS), and online government payment and registration services.
Mayor Javi underscored the intensive efforts of the city in improving its tourism accommodation assets such as Victorias Aquatic Center, Gawahon Eco-Park, Mangrove Eco-Trail, etc.
He revealed that the City Tourism and Promotions Office recorded a total of 80,000 same-day tourists last year and had sought a 35.48% increase in overnight accommodations.
Moreover, under his Dignified Human Settlements Agenda, there are already 1,013 applicants for the soon-to-rise Sidlak Residential Complex that has 10 Sidlak Residence Towers.
The recent inauguration of the Php 55-million state-of-the-art Victorias City Command and Evacuation Center was also mentioned, exemplifying the city’s joint efforts in building disaster-resilient Victoriahanon communities.
Under this agenda, the umbrella program, Project VECTOR was also stressed by the City Mayor, which covered the installation of early warning systems and disaster response management resources such as water tankers, patient transport vehicles, dinghy boats, ambulances, man lifts, tow trucks, and mini trucks.
Mayor Javi also emphasized its big-ticket project, Sidlak Learning Technologies which is worth Php 114,569,670.
This includes the distribution of 924 laptops, 713 Smart TVs, 3,555 tablets, 589 teacher’s tables and chairs, 4,230 monobloc chairs, etc.
The several health programs of the City Health Office such as the Primary Eye Care Program, Renal Disease Control Program, Mental Health Program, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Program were also mentioned.
As of writing, the City Mayor sealed a total of 36 memoranda of agreement and understanding for various relevant partnerships.
Among these are the Mingo MingGrow Protocol for Stunted Children and Nutrition Master Plan with Negrense Volunteers for Change (NVC), GCash Digital Service Payment Acceptance and Digital Funds Disbursement, and Carabao-based Business Improvement Network (CBIN) with Provincial Veterinary Office and San Antonio Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative Center.
“Ang makita naton tanan nga mga kaayohan sa aton ciudad bunga lang sang aton nga pag-ugyon, pagbuligay, kag padayon nga pagtuman sang aton nga mga handum nga magsanyog,” Mayor Javi stressed.
With the numerous accomplishments of the LGU, the City Mayor applauded all department heads for the realization of these milestones.
Mayor Javi also lauded some of the city’s national awards including the 2023 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), Gawad Kalasag, and Tourism Champions Challenge.
Despite these achievements, the City Mayor emphasized that this is just his midterm report, a lot more big projects and events are coming to Victorias for the second half of his term.
“Madamu pa kita sang mga matahum nga Kadalag-an nga ihalad sa ciudad sang Victorias […] Ululupod naton ini tanan nga idul-ong sa iya, kag sa iya nga mga pumuluyo,” the Mayor capped.
The City Mayor’s Midterm Report transpired during the 72nd Sangguniang Panlungsod Session presided over by Vice Mayor Abelardo Bantug III.
City councilors, barangay officials, SK chairpersons, department heads, National Government Agency heads and representatives, and city employees were all gathered to witness the remarkable activity.
