VICTORIAS CITY SWITCHES ON SMART TRAFFIC SYSTEM, INAUGURATES CAFÉ, SATELLITE MARKET

Victorias City took another stride toward progress with the inauguration of three infrastructure projects, including the newly relocated Victorias Café, the city’s first AI-powered traffic lights, and the upgraded Satellite Market in Barangay I, held on June 26.
Victorias City Mayor and Congressman-elect of the Third District of Negros Occidental Javier Miguel Benitez, along with city and barangay officials, department heads and project partners led the ceremonies.
The Victorias Café has been relocated to the South Wing of the Public Plaza and with its improved design, the café aims to become a lively space for local business, food, and community gatherings.
Additionally, the AI-powered traffic lights with camera integration installed at Crossing Central, along Osmeña Avenue and BS Aquino Drive was switched on today.
Mayor Javi said it was high time to install traffic lights in Victorias to help reduce congestion and keep roads safer and more peaceful for all.
DPWH NIR Engineer V Nonie Viyar and DPWH Negros Occidental 1st District Engineering Office Engineer II Engr. Roberto Maghibon Jr. joined the inauguration.
Land Transportation Office – Region VI Regional Director Atty. Gaudioso Geduspan II was represented by LTO EB Magalona District Office Chief Reuben Tampos during the activity.
Moreover, the Satellite Market in Barangay I now offers more space for vendors with 68 stalls and a better drainage system.
Mayor Benitez thanked the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental for their support noting that the facility is more than just a place to buy and sell but it is a mark of a progressive city.
Also present during the inauguration ceremonies were project partners from Sidmax Technology, TMTC Construction and Supply Corporation, IDMU Construction, and 969807 Construction.
