The opening ceremony was attended by athletes from all 26 barangays, each proudly representing their community in the much-anticipated SK Inter-Barangay Volleyball League for both men’s and women’s categories.

The tournament makes a strong comeback this year, revitalizing the city’s commitment to grassroots sports development.

Congressman of the Third District Javier Miguel Benitez graced the ceremony and delivered the Opening Remarks.

Speaking as a Sports Development Ambassador, Congressman Javi emphasized the role of sports in fostering discipline, values, and camaraderie among the youth, calling on the community to continue supporting athletic programs as a vital part of youth empowerment.

Also present to show their support were Vice Mayor Derek Palanca and City Councilors Dexter Senido, Eric Alcobilla, and Audie Malaga, who each shared messages of encouragement and unity.

The event drew full support from the youth leadership sector, with SK Chairpersons, SK Council members, Barangay Captains, and Barangay Kagawads in attendance, demonstrating their collective commitment to advancing sports and youth development across the city.

The Oath of Sportsmanship was led by Ramon Driaga, reminding all athletes of the values of integrity, fairness, and mutual respect as they enter competition.

Adding color and excitement to the day was the Inter-Barangay Muse TikTok Showdown, which drew enthusiastic cheers from the crowd.

Besiata from Team OSTEE was declared the winner of the contest, earning applause and admiration from attendees.

Moreover, Florence Tudeja lit the Torch of Light at the ceremonial urn, officially signaling the start of the league’s competitions.

To conclude the program, SK Federation President of Victorias Councilor Trisha Mae Majan led a prayer and delivered a heartfelt closing message, formally declaring the SK Federation Sports League 2025 open.
