VICTORIAS CITY LAUNCHES SIDLAK VICTORIAS MEDIA CENTER, UNVEILS TWO PROJECTS AT THE PUBLIC PLAZA

Victorias City Mayor and Congressman-elect of the Third District of Negros Occidental, Javier Miguel Benitez, spearheaded the official launch of the Sidlak Victorias Media Center at the Victorias Command and Evacuation Center, June 27.
In his message, Mayor Javi states, “The development of the Sidlak Victorias Media Center represents more than just an infrastructure upgrade; it is a transformative initiative with long-term strategic benefits for both local government and its constituents.”
The Sidlak Victorias Media Center is envisioned to become the city’s central hub for multimedia production, digital communication, and timely public information.
With a strong focus on community engagement, the facility will serve as an accessible platform for interactive discussions, civic feedback, and participatory governance.
It is equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual and post-production equipment to support the work of creatives, students, educators, and communication professionals in Victorias City.
Through a dual-channel approach using digital livestreaming and FM radio, the city aims to ensure that vital updates and government programs reach every Victoriasanon, including those in far-flung barangays or areas with limited internet connectivity.
The Media Center includes a professional broadcast studio, recording and editing rooms, a video production room, transmitting and control rooms, and a dedicated newsroom, all designed to support high-quality content delivery and public service broadcasting.
Alongside the Media Center launch, the City Government also unveiled two significant projects at the Victorias City Public Plaza.
The Multi-Purpose Building, now designated as the Senior Citizens’ Pavilion, is part of the broader Public Parks and Plaza Improvement Project and offers a safe, inclusive, and comfortable space for the elderly to gather, socialize, and stay active.
Also inaugurated was the newly constructed Power House and 500KVA Generator Set, a major step forward in ensuring uninterrupted city government operations during power outages.
The facility supplies backup electricity to the City Hall and adjacent offices and features a free public charging station that can be used during emergencies.
City officials, department heads, and employees attended the event, together with agency heads and representatives from National Telecommunications Commission Region VI, Philippine Information Agency Negros Occidental, Department of the Interior and Local Government NIR Cluster II, National Commission of Senior Citizens, Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs, and the Senior Citizens Federation.
Project partners ESJ Construction and Supply, Sidmax Technology, 969807 Construction, and TMTC Construction and Supply were also present.
These projects underscore Victorias City’s continued commitment to modernizing public services, promoting inclusive spaces, and ensuring resilient governance through innovation and community-centered planning. *
