VICTORIAS CITY EMPOWERS 80 EXPECTANT MOTHERS AT BUNTIS CONGRESS

A total of 80 Pregnant Women participated in this year’s Buntis Congress and were given free lectures on maternal health care, newborn health, and accessible health education at CityMall Victorias, July 17.


Obstetrician-gynecologist Dr. Diane Hibionada-Sumugat served as the guest speaker and shared important information on balanced nutrition, routine check-ups, safe delivery preparation, and postnatal care.


Staff from the Victorias City Health Office also conducted educational sessions on the City’s Primary Care Facility programs, including STI-HIV/AIDS awareness, PHIC/Newborn services, family planning, immunization, and mental health support.


City Nutrition Action Officer Designate Gina Heria opened the activity with her welcome message, highlighting the role of nutrition and preventive care in ensuring the well-being of mothers and babies.


CHO Supervising Administrative Officer April Golda Acuña concluded the event by commending the organizing team and encouraging participants to continue learning about maternal health.


Each participant received a gift pack from Kaayong Lawas Foundation, led by Executive Director Butch Gicana, PhD.


The Buntis Congress was organized by the Victorias City Health Office headed by City Health Officer Dr. Richard Garlitos through Nutrition Program Coordinator Nariel Bandojo, RN, MN, in partnership with the City Nutrition Office and Barangay Nutrition Scholars as part of this year’s Nutrition Month Celebration. *
