VICTORIAS CITY CONDUCTS SEARCH FOR BEST PERFORMING PWD ORGANIZATION 2025

In a show of commitment to inclusivity and empowerment, the City Government of Victorias launched the Search for Best Performing PWD Organization 2025, recognizing the efforts of local disability groups across the city from July 1 to 7.
Held in line with the upcoming National Disability Rights (NDR) Week celebration, the activity aimed to spotlight exemplary practices of Persons with Disabilities (PWD) organizations while encouraging other groups to strengthen their leadership, functionality, and advocacy efforts at the community level.
Anchored on Proclamation No. 597 by President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., which declares July 17–23 of every year as NDR Week, the search promotes awareness on disability rights and highlights the nation’s continuing efforts to uplift the social and economic conditions of PWDs.
A total of 23 PWD organizations, represented by their respective presidents, were evaluated based on organizational performance, community engagement, and sustainability of programs.
The panel of evaluators included Victorias DILG CLGOO Michelle Arriola, Designated PDAO Focal Person Arvie Brillantes, Social Welfare Officer I Ricky Lapidante, Jr., RSW, and Day Care Worker II Aireen Grace Gazo, RSW.
The activity served as both an assessment and learning platform, allowing evaluators to identify areas for improvement while recognizing outstanding contributions in promoting inclusivity at the barangay level.
Organized by the City Social Welfare and Development Office in collaboration with DILG Victorias and local Barangay Councils, the initiative reinforces Victorias City's dedication to building communities where every sector, including persons with disabilities, has the opportunity to thrive and lead. *
