Victorias City welcomed the rollout of the first set of infrastructure projects supported by Third District Representative Javier Miguel Benitez, with the Victorias City as the recipient of three major developments: the Multi-purpose and Cultural Building at the Sidlak Victorias Global City, the Multi-purpose Building for uniformed personnel near Barangay XI People’s Hall, and the redevelopment of the Barbecue Plaza (Tun-ogan), on July 1.

Congressman Javi, joined by Representative Brian Daniel Poe Llamanzares of the FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist and Mayor Abelardo Bantug III, led the ceremonial groundbreaking of the Multi-purpose and Cultural Building at the Sidlak Victorias Global City in Barangay XIII.

Envisioned as a hub for creativity, youth engagement, and cultural preservation, the facility is designed to promote artistic expression, celebrate Victoriasanon identity, and empower local talents through accessible, culturally enriching spaces.

Congressman Poe Llamanzares shared his excitement for the project, saying, “We want to showcase what we plan to do in the 20th Congress. Our goal is to bring meaningful services and initiatives closer to the people and go around the country to help as much as we can.”

Congressman Javi highlighted the importance of inclusive spaces that promote culture and civic engagement, while Mayor JunB emphasized the city’s commitment to fostering community spirit through accessible and culturally enriching infrastructure.

Prior to the launch of the cultural complex, Victorias City also broke ground for a Multi-purpose Building for uniformed personnel near the Barangay XI People’s Hall.

The facility is intended to support police and army personnel stationed in the area, reinforcing the city’s commitment to public safety, security, and efficient response operations.

Congressman Javi expressed his appreciation and fulfillment in donating the two-hectare lot where the building will rise.

He also acknowledged former Senator Francis Tolentino for helping secure the project's funding, underscoring the importance of strengthening the support system for local enforcers and responders.

The city government also broke ground for the redevelopment of the Barbecue Plaza (Tun-ogan), which will be transformed into a more structured, sanitary, and vendor-friendly food hub.

The project aims to uplift the conditions of local vendors while providing residents and visitors with an improved, more hygienic dining experience.

Once completed, the new Tun-ogan will offer better infrastructure, safer food handling practices, and a cleaner, more inviting community space.

Also present during the events were Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas – Region VI Coordinator Mark Elmo Tupas, Vice Mayor Derek Palanca, city councilors, department heads of the Victorias City Government, and project contractors from AC Rivero Development Corp., SL&G Construction, R.A.G. Corona Construction and Aggregates, and partners from DPWH headed by Engr. Dene Baldonado Jr.

These three groundbreaking projects highlight Victorias City’s commitment to culture, public service, and community development, aiming to improve the lives of residents and build a stronger, more inclusive community. *
