BAYI INC. HOLDS 2-DAY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP FOR WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS

A total of 65 Victoriasanon Women participated in BAYI Inc.’s Business Development Workshop for Women and LGBTQIA+ Entrepreneurs and Government Employees of Victorias at the Victorias Aquatic Center Pavilion II, and the Victorias City Hall, 2nd Floor Lobby, on June 20 and 21.
On the first day, 35 government employees who are members of the Gender and Development Focal Point System attended the Feminist Business Development Workshop designed to introduce feminist economic principles and inclusive enterprise development.
The sessions were divided into four parts, focusing on co-creating the LGU’s version of the “Bayi Circle,” integrating it into local governance, and developing an action plan for implementation.
BAYI Inc. Consultant Rachelle Leones and Project Associate Frances Therese Zabala served as the primary facilitators of the workshop sessions.
They were joined by other speakers including University of the Philippines Center for Women and Gender Studies representative Leizl Lectura, Chief of Staff to Bacolod City Councilor Celia Matea Flor, Dawn Marie Castro, Orani, Bataan Councilor Maya Bongco, and BanKo Victorias Business Manager Junny Tayactac.
On the second day, 30 women and LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs from Victorias City and other LGUs in Negros Occidental participated in a workshop aimed at strengthening community-based women’s associations.
Participants were introduced to the BAYI Tiangge Roadmap and learned how to build the foundation of a women’s entrepreneurial group through a discussion led by Consultant Rachelle Leones.
The BAYI Inc. Team, which presided over the workshops, was led by its Co-Executive Director, Maya Tamayo, who delivered a welcome message to the participants.
Victorias City’s Local Economic Development and Investments Promotions Officer, Paolo Valladarez, JD, MBA, also gave the opening remarks on both workshop days as the office that spearheaded this initiative. *
