BARANGAY VI HISTORY

Barangay VI is located in the northwest of the city of Victorias , the area covers the whole of the Barangay VI-A and Barangay VI proper itself. during the early days of its creation, the area was purely agricultural . at the edge of the barangay , you can find the fishponds , coconut plantation and nipa plantation - the latter still exist.

Barangay VI mostly owned by two families, the Lopezes and the Triumphos , in the early 60’s the rice paddies were converted into subdivisions which were named the Lopez Subdivision of the Lopez family and Estrella Village and Salvacion Subdivision of the Triumpho family.

In the 80’s, the people of Barangay VI held a referendum. the objective was to devide the barangay into two separate barangays. the yes vote overwhelmed and thus BARANGAY VI - was created. Massive development on infrastructure especially On Road System And Drainage System thru the effort of former Mayor Severo A. Palanca And former Congressman Jose Carlos Lacson .

Barangay VI has a total population Of 5,607 And A Total Land Area Of 89.99 Hectares . The livelihoods of our residents are mostly workers . Skilled Workers are abundant in our Barangay. On Agricultural aspect, we still have private owned fishponds And nipa plantation.

Although our business sector is still below the average . Our Barangay has one Government Office and Bank.

Barangay VI is generally peaceful place though we are a Flood Prone Area.
